Redding, CA – Melo Motorsports and driver Kyle Cattanach put together two top-five finishes Saturday night at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, CA. The finishes came in two Dan Gamel & Eldorado Casino sponsored entries on Dan Gamel night at the park.

Cattanach’s fourth place finish in the NASCAR Grand National West Series Dan Gamel RV Centers 200 was his career best in that series in just four starts. Fans, media, sponsors, and observers were excited to see Cattanach guide his Toyota Camry from 22nd to 4th in one of the toughest fields in the West Series all season.

The 22 year-old driver worked from 22nd to seventh by the halfway break in the 200 lap contest on the half-mile asphalt oval. Cattanach then methodically moved forward to finish fourth as the checkered flag fell.

The fourth place finish marked Toyota’s highest ever finish in NASACR Grand National competition.

Cattanach looked strong in the NASCAR Late Model event, battling past locals David Hulsey and Justin Philpott for another fourth place finish.

The performances came after word that Cattanach has been cleared to compete in Busch and Truck series events on tracks up to one-mile long, and making a start in one of these series seems likely in the future.

Melo Motorsports and Kyle Cattanach are currently in their second year together. Cattanach will be competing in several Late Model events and at least one more major NASCAR event before the season is over.

Melo Motorsports is also developing young female driver Mackena Bell of Carson City, NV, who will be driving a Dan Gamel Chevrolet next Saturday night at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA.
