Redding,
CA
–
Kyle Cattanach
of
Redding,
CA
will team up with the Eldorado Hotel Casino in
Reno, NV this
Saturday night at Ukiah Speedway in
Ukiah,
CA
for the Eldorado Westcar Late Model Series 100 on the quarter-mile
asphalt oval.
Fresh off of
two fourth place finishes at Altamont Motorsports Park, Cattanach
will be searching for his second Westcar win of the 2007 season.
Cattanach won the Westcar event in July at
Shasta
Raceway
Park in Anderson, CA.
The 22
year-old driver has two career Late Model track championships and
should be tough to beat against the all-star field at Ukiah. The
race marks the seventh and final round in the 2007 Westcar Tour of
Champions.
Cattanach ran
multiple times at Ukiah Speedway in 2004 en-route to a runner-up
finish in the North State Challenge Series points standings.
Cattanach also
earned his stripes at quarter-mile tracks in 2005 in the ASA Speed
Truck Challenge. Cattanach earned a third place finish at the tight
Orange Show Speedway en-route to second in that series points as a
rookie.
Saturday’s 100
lap event is the second of five straight weeks of Late Model racing
for
Melo
Motorsports, a Redding-based team owned by Marty Melo, that
campaigns cars for Kyle Cattanach and development driver Mackena
Bell. Mackena Bell will be back racing for Melo on September 29th
at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA.
